1.5 Years Added To Political Prisoner Volha Mayorava Sentenced To 20 Years

A new verdict has been issued.

A new verdict on political prisoner Volha Mayorava has been announced. This is written by the human rights centre ‘Viasna’.

Volha Mayorava was convicted in the so-called ‘case of Autukhovich’ in 2022. Then she was sentenced to 20 years of imprisonment. She was accused under five articles of the Criminal Code. In court, Mayorava did not admit her ‘guilt’.

In March this year, she was tried under Article 411 of the Criminal Code for ‘malicious disobedience to the lawful demands of the colony administration’. As it became known to ‘Viasna’, another 1.5 years of imprisonment was added to her sentence.
