They prevented a breakthrough.
Units of the AFU Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnitsky have successfully neutralised armoured vehicles of Russian assault units advancing on the western flank of Vuhledar.
A video of destroying the enemy columns was published on the brigade's official page on Telegram.
The enemy units continue to attempt a breakthrough in this direction, but the Ukrainian defenders, using FPV drones and mine barriers, are effectively holding back their advance.
Coordinated work in the direction of Vuhledar was carried out by drone operators of the Bulava units of the 3rd Mechanised Battalion and the Chimer units of the 20th Separate Brigade of Special Operations.
‘Another column had more than 15 units of vehicles. The enemy split up and tried to advance at once in the direction of two settlements. Part of the equipment was hit by FPV drones, part was blown up on mines,’ the report said.
Thanks to aerial reconnaissance and attack drones, it is possible to timely detect and destroy enemy equipment. Thus, unmanned aviation actively supports neighbouring units, striking at vehicles also beyond their own defence areas.
Tactics of the Russian Armed Forces
The Ukrainian military notes that Russian units continue to use breakthrough tactics at all costs, despite significant losses. A few days earlier, the enemy launched a massive mechanised assault involving a large number of armoured vehicles and tanks, but thanks to the timely detection of the advancing vehicles, the Ukrainian forces managed to prepare promptly to repel the attack and destroy the enemy column.
