Georgia needs to be saved.
Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili, who is in prison, criticized the opposition, which is not using the street tool enough against the pro-Russian Georgian Dream party that rigged the elections:
— Meetings are important, and the scheme to steal the elections needs to be exposed, but a dictatorship has been established in Georgia, and neither foreign countries nor the detailed documents that we are writing can do anything against this unless it is accompanied by mass and long-term protest.
Time is being lost inside the country, and interest outside the country is gradually decreasing. The initiative will pass into the hands of the regime if we do not take it into our own hands.
We used to say that we are not Belarus or Venezuela and that we will be more active. In fact, we must admit that even the same Belarusians fought much more actively than we did.
I say this with concern and pain and hope that the broad popular protest movement will quickly recover.
I am glad that parties and public movements are acting together, and I strongly urge the National Movement and all its supporters to leave our pre-election disagreements behind, because now we need to save our country!
