Famous social activist Nina Bahinskaya was detained in Independence Square in Minsk in the evening on October 30. This became known to the TV channel ‘Belsat’ from its own sources.
According to the channel, the detention occurred when Bahinskaya was tying a white-red-white ribbon on a tree near the closed Red Cathedral in Minsk.
It is reported that an administrative report was drawn up against 77-year-old Bahinskaya in Maskouski District Police Department. The policemen kept the woman in the department for more than two hours and let her go home until the trial.
We remind you that on October 30, ‘Belsat’ reported that on October 19, Nina Bahinskaya was walking in Minsk along Kazlou Street with a poster, which read ‘Belarusian Popular Front’. It was on this day 36 years ago that the organising committee of the organization was established.
Then the activist was also detained and taken to the police station, where they put her hands behind her back and handcuffed her. She was held for three hours and released pending trial.
