NSDCU: Russia Attempted To Attack Mazyr Oil Refinery With 'Shahed'

The drone flew about 40 km across the territory of Belarus.

Early in the morning of October 4, the Russian kamikaze drone 'Shahed' flew into Belarus and exploded near the Mazyr Oil Refinery.

Andriy Kovalenko, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation of the Security Council of Ukraine, reported.

The Charter97.org website previously reported on another incident with "Shahed".

According to him, a powerful explosion shook the village of Kalinkavichy at about 5 am on Friday.

The drone first flew into the territory of Ukraine, then crossed the Belarusian border and flew about 40 km before being destroyed.

"The Shahed kamikaze drone exploded yesterday at 04:55 in Kalinkavichy. It is unknown whether it detonated on its own or was shot down by air defence forces," Belarusian monitoring channels write.

Kovalenko reported that the Russian Armed Forces' target could have been the Mazyr Oil Refinery, one of the largest oil refineries in Belarus.

"The Russians are trying to commit a provocation near the Mazyr Oil Refinery to blame Ukraine and demand action from Lukashenka," Kovalenko wrote.
