Biden About US Presidential Elections: I Don't Know Whether It Will Be Peaceful

The politician commented on the recent statements by Trump and Vance.

US President Joe Biden is not sure that the US elections on November 5 will be peaceful.

ABC News reported.

In particular, he expressed concern, referring to the recent comments of Donald Trump and JD Vance.

"I am confident that the elections will be free and fair. I don't know whether it will be peaceful," Biden said.

According to him, Trump did not like the result last time and this ultimately led to an attempt to storm the Capitol. His vice presidential candidate Vance also did not say that he would accept the result of the 2024 elections.

"So I am concerned about what they are going to do," Biden added.

What Vance Was Talking About?

This week, during a debate with a Democratic opponent, Vance was pressed for comments he made that if he were vice president at the start of 2021, he would not certify the election results but would ask states to send in alternate slates of electors.

CBS moderators asked whether he would also challenge the 2024 election if all governors signed off on the results.

"Look, what President Trump has said is that there were problems in 2020, and my own belief is that we should fight about those issues, debate those issues peacefully in the public square," Vance said.

That led to a verbal spat with Tim Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, who asked point-blank if Vance thought Trump had lost the election.

“Tim, I’m focused on the future,” he said evasively.
