Ukrainian intelligence officers conducted a successful operation in the Baltic Sea.
The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reported a successful operation to disable an enemy vessel — the minesweeper “Alexander Obukhov”, based in the Baltic Sea.
According to information published in the Defence Intelligence Telegram channel, the minesweeper “Alexander Obukhov” was supposed to go on combat duty from the city of Baltiysk, but before that it was seriously damaged. The mysterious appearance of a hole in the gas duct led to water getting into the engine, which caused its failure.
The intelligence officers noted that now the Russian minesweeper will be sent for major repairs, which could become a serious problem for the occupiers.
The fact is that the damaged M-503 engine is a scarce item, and repairing a key installation on the ship is technically complex and expensive. In addition, the Defence Intelligence reported that the minesweeper “Aleksandr Obukhov” had recently, in July 2024, undergone repair work in the city of St. Petersburg. This is already the second neutralized ship of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces in the last six months. The successful operation of the Defence Intelligence is another example of the effective work of Ukrainian intelligence in the fight against the occupiers.
