Poland Informs When US Missile Defence Base To Be Opened In Poland

It is not long to wait.

On Wednesday, November 13, a US missile defence base will be officially opened in the north of Poland in Redzikowo.

This was announced on Polsat News by the head of the Polish National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera.

Siewiera informed that on November 11, ‘the president is going to Azerbaijan after the state celebrations, but on the way back he will land in Gdansk, from where he will go directly to the official opening ceremony of the Aegis missile defence base in Redzikowo’.

According to him, this event will take place on Wednesday, November 13.

Siewiera emphasised that it is a US Navy base, but its very interesting feature is that it is subordinate to NATO's EUCOM command, that is, the command of American forces in Europe.

‘As an American base, it performs transatlantic defence tasks,’ he added.

As you know, following the July NATO summit in Washington, it was announced that the new US missile defence facility in Poland's Redzikowo was operational and ready for the Alliance's defence.
