Scholz: Trump Has ‘More Sophisticated’ Position On Ukraine

The German Chancellor spoke about a conversation with the US President-elect.

Donald Trump has a “more sophisticated position” on Ukraine than is often attributed to him. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf ScholzSüddeutsche Zeitung.

“I got the impression that he has a more sophisticated position than is often assumed,” Scholz said, referring to his conversation with Trump after his election victory.

The German Chancellor also does not believe that Trump can make a certain deal with Vladimir Putin on Ukraine that bypasses Kyiv's interests.

“Nothing in the conversation [with Donald Trump] indicated this,” Scholz assured.
