Pentagon Confirms Russia's Use Of Experimental Ballistic Missile Against Ukraine

The Oreshnik missile was developed on the basis of the intercontinental Rubezh.

On Thursday, November 21, Pentagon spokesperson Sabringa Singh said that the US confirms Russia's use of an experimental medium-range ballistic missile, the prototype of which is the RS-26 ‘Rubezh’ intercontinental model.

During the briefing, she stressed that the US was informed briefly through the Nuclear Threat Reduction Centre line before the launch.

‘I can confirm that Russia has launched an experimental medium-range ballistic missile, the prototype of which is the RS-26 Rubezh intercontinental model. Prior to the launch, the US was informed briefly through the Nuclear Threat Reduction Centre line,’ she said.

She gave no other details.

On November 21, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said Russian forces attacked Dnipro with the latest medium-range Oreshnik system.
