Russians Execute Five Ukrainian PoWs

Russian occupiers shot five captured Ukrainian soldiers in the Pokrovsk direction. This was reported by NV with reference to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
Preliminary, in November 2024, Russian troops stormed the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces near the village of Petrivka in the Pokrovsk district. As a result of the Russian offensive, five Ukrainian soldiers were forced to retreat and hide in a private house, but the occupiers surrounded them and took them prisoner.
The Russians forced the Ukrainian soldiers to leave their shelter unarmed and lie on the ground. After that, they shot them with automatic weapons.
The prosecutor's office began a pre-trial investigation in a criminal case on the fact of committing a war crime combined with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Investigative actions are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crime and the persons involved in its commission.
The Office of the Prosecutor General recalls that the killing of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and is classified as a grave international crime.
