This is promised by December.
The Belarusian military claims it will soon deploy a locally developed mobile communication system touted as an "alternative to Starlink." Vadzim Romaniv, head of communications for the Armed Forces, announced this on state broadcaster Belarus 1.
"Last year, we presented for Lukashenka our mobile communication kit, dubbed the Belarusian equivalent of Starlink. This year, we've supposedly perfected the system, improving both its quality and range of services. Today, we're showcasing its capabilities, and by the start of the new academic year, it will be delivered to the army," Romaniv assured viewers.
The Head of Communications assured that before the start of the new academic year, which begins in December in the army, the “Belarusian Starlink” will be in the troops.
The announcement harks back to October 6, 2023, when Lukashenka was first introduced to the so-called "Starlink alternative." Military officials boasted that the system not only supports communication but also provides remote internet access.
“So, you did for free what Musk did for billions of dollars?” Lukashenka asked.
The Belarusian military specialist clarified:
“Well, not for free, but for very little money,”
The Belarusians then ridiculed Lukashenka’s reaction to the “Starlink analogue” in the comments.
