The infamous operatives "Petrov" and "Boshirov" are recruiting accomplices.
GRU (Russian military intelligence) agents responsible for the Salisbury poisonings are now orchestrating sabotage missions in Europe. Investigative journalist Christo Grozev, collaborating with Der Spiegel and The Insider, revealed these disturbing developments on Dozhd.
"Chepiga is reportedly based on Michurinsky Prospekt in Moscow, where he trains both professional special forces and common criminals to act as operatives. Mishkin, initially seen near the front lines at the start of the war, was involved in sabotage activities in Ukraine. However, recent intelligence indicates he now focuses on training and recruitment," Grozev disclosed.
The journalist further detailed that these recruitment efforts for European sabotage missions stem from a GRU hub, specifically Unit 29155. This notorious unit orchestrated not only the Skripal poisonings but also the 2014 explosions at ammunition depots in Vrbetice, Czech Republic.
Unit 29155's commander, Andrei Averyanov, who oversaw the Salisbury attack, has risen to prominence within the GRU. As first deputy head of the organization, Averyanov now oversees four separate departments. Notably, he was involved in recruiting Taliban fighters in Afghanistan to target American soldiers.
Anatoly Chepiga ("Boshirov") and Alexander Mishkin ("Petrov") gained notoriety as suspects in the attempted murder of Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury, England, in 2018. According to Czech authorities, these agents also played a key role in the 2014 Vrbetice arms depot explosions.
