Palina Sharenda-Panasyuk Appeals Latest Verdict

The appeal hearing is scheduled for December 13.

A month and a half ago, political prisoner and activist of the European Belarus Civil Campaign Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was sentenced to a year in prison. This was already the third illegal verdict under Article 411 for allegedly "malicious disobedience to the administration of the colony."

According to the Viasna HRC in Brest, the Homel Regional Court is scheduled to hear the appeal against this latest verdict of Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk on December 13.

But at the same time, according to Viasna's sources, the Homel Regional Prosecutor's Office will also appeal the verdict handed down to Palina.

Recall that Palina Sharenda-Panasiuk was detained on January 3, 2021 and has been behind bars since then. During her imprisonment, the political prisoner's health condition significantly worsened, and chronic pancreatitis developed. In prison, this disease can be fatal for the mother of two children.
