Former Deputy Director Of Hrodna Theater Sentenced To Four Years In Jail
DZMITRY CHYLIK

For repeated bribe-taking.

Former Deputy Director of the Drama Theater Dzmitry Chylik was accused of repeatedly accepting bribes over several years.

The court found Dzmitry Chylik guilty of “accepting material assets and acquiring property benefits by an official,” Hrodna.life writes.

The investigation established that from September 2021 to February 2024, Chylik “repeatedly accepted cash as a bribe for a total of 20,830 rubles.”

Chylik partially admitted his guilt. He voluntarily paid taxes on the amount received, which the court recognized as a mitigating circumstance.

Dzmitry Chylik was sentenced to five years in a maximum security penal colony. Based on the amnesty law signed by Lukashenka on July 2, 2024, the court reduced the term by one year.

Chylik was also deprived of the right to hold positions related to the performance of organizational and administrative duties for a period of five years. The former deputy director is required to pay a fine of 300 base fees (12 thousand rubles).

The money seized from Chylik — 2.5 thousand rubles — was confiscated to the benefit of the state.
