Trump Appoints Susie Wiles As White House Chief Of Staff

She coordinated his 2016 presidential campaign in the state of Florida.

US President-elect Donald Trump has announced that Susie Wiles, one of his 2024 presidential campaign managers, will head the White House staff, the Washington Post reported. This is Trump's first staff appointment since being elected president on November 5.

Trump described the 67-year-old Wiles as ‘tough, smart and committed to innovation.’ She is universally admired and respected, he said.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Susan Summerall was one of three children of Pat Summerall, a National Football League player who later became a popular sports commentator. She graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park.

In 1980, she joined Ronald Reagan's presidential campaign as a planning fellow.

In the 1990s, Wiles served as chief of staff to Mayor John Delaney of Jacksonville, Florida. She also worked as an aide to U.S. House of Representatives member, attorney Tillie Fowler.

Her career growth evolved along with her growing experience in various election campaigns. In 2016, she began working with Trump, coordinating his presidential campaign in the state of Florida.
