Protests continue in Tbilisi.
Georgian TV channel Formula, citing its source in the Foreign Ministry, reports that Deputy Foreign Minister Teimuraz Dzhandzhalia has resigned.
Georgian Ambassador to the US David Zalkaliani has also resigned. Mtavari TV channel adds that Georgian Ambassador to Lithuania Salome Shapakidze made a similar decision.
According to apsny.ge, Georgian Ambassador to Bulgaria Otar Berdzenishvili wrote on X on December 29 that he was leaving his post. The same source notes that Georgian Ambassador to the Netherlands David Solomonia also resigned on November 30, adding that up to 150 employees of the Georgian Foreign Ministry signed a statement against the rejection of the European course.
In the evening of November 30, a rally was held in Tbilisi, accompanied by clashes with law enforcers. On December 1, participants of the rally continue the action on the blocked Chavchavadze Avenue of the capital of Georgia.
The situation in Georgia deteriorated after Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said that the country's authorities had decided to take off the agenda of starting negotiations on the country's membership in the European Union until 2028 and refused to receive grants for the government.
