Russian Performers Not Listened To In Belarus?

In December, musicians from the Russian Federation did not take any place in the top 10.

People in Belarus have stopped listening to Russian performers. In December 2024, musicians from Russia did not take a single place in the top 10 most popular songs in the Apple Music service (Russian musicians were even in the top ten in Estonia), RBC writes.

The previous time the decline in interest in Russian musicians in the ‘post-Soviet countries’ was recorded in 2022 (in 2023 it partially resumed). They are being pushed out of the charts by Korean and American music.

Experts from the Russian Federation do not see any profound shifts in this. They attribute the situation to low concert activity and weak promotion of Russian pop culture abroad.

Apple Music is one of the world's largest audio services. The ratings are updated daily. RBC analysed them for December 2022, 2023 and 2024 and compared the data. Last year, Belarus was the leader in Russian performers in the top 10 (nine out of ten). However, now the entire ranking of the most popular songs is represented by South Korean music.
