The Kremlin did not expect such a turn of events.

Moscow staggered. No one expected such developments in Syria and the flight of Bashar al-Assad, not even the greatest "geopolitical strategist" Vova Putin. The boomerang, as a response to the GRU provocation, staged in Israel by Hamas a year ago, flew from a completely different place than expected.

Now Moscow has not just problems in the Middle East, but severed ends and the loss of two military bases, into the construction of which tens of billions of dollars were poured. Iran is next, where the latest military technologies from the West are still seeping in, and then the "Farewell of Slavianka" march. "Where should a poor peasant go?"

There are very good parallels with what is happening in Ukraine and America. The Kremlin was betting on Trump and he got it, but now it doesn’t know what to expect from him. The dirt on the elected president of the United States, lying in the depths of Lubyanka, will not work for two reasons.

First, Trump can no longer run for president under the Constitution, and it is almost impossible to change it. And second, "You are all lying," he will say and everyone will believe him. Therefore, manipulating him seems to be an extremely difficult task for the Kremlin, if possible.

“The East is a delicate matter” in both a figurative and literal sense. Military bases in Syria and the Assad regime served the Kremlin as a solid support for many special operations of the GRU and FSB both in the East and in Africa.

Now the ground is slipping from under its feet and it is becoming extremely problematic to blackmail not only Europe, but also America. The most unpleasant thing is that very soon cheap gas from Qatar and cheap oil from Iraq and Iran will flow into Europe without obstacles, no tankers are needed.

Everything that remains in Russia's depths is in Ukraine, and why does Europe need a Russia that has "gone off the rails" when there is a more predictable Ukraine? Surprisingly, Russia's loss of Syria opens up new opportunities for Ukraine to end the war as quickly as possible, not on Moscow's terms, but on the terms of America and Europe. They are not at all the ones that Russian propaganda is talking about.
