Materik Hardware Store Chain CEO To Stand Trial For Participation In Belarusian Protests

On December 26, 2024, the trial of Aliaksandr Apolka, the CEO at the Materik chain of hardware stores, will begin in the Oktiabrski District Court of Minsk. He is charged under Article 342 of the Criminal Code of Belarus - participation in protests, Nasha Niva writes.
Apolka was arrested in August 2024. After his arrest, security forces called him a "disgruntled bourgeois" and forced him to name his high salary.
Materik is a chain of hardware stores, which consists of five stores in four cities of Belarus - Minsk, Brest, Hrodna and Vitebsk.
