U.S. Forces Regain Control of Military Base in Syria: Russian Army Retreats

In the north of Syria, near the city of Kobani, the American military regained control of a military base that Russian troops occupied with pathos in 2019, writes Dialog.UA.

At that time, Russian propaganda actively circulated reports about the "triumph" of its contingent, accompanying the events with a staged landing of Russian troops and statements about "clearing the territory" of the already empty base.

In fact, the base was abandoned by the Americans in advance and there was no resistance to the occupiers.

However, this did not stop the Russian military from filming numerous staged videos in order to create the appearance of strategic success.

Today, 5 years later, the star-spangled flag is once again flying over Kobani, and Russian troops have hastily left the facility.

The reasons for their flight are obvious: increasing pressure from Syrian rebels and the inability to maintain control over key areas amid geopolitical problems and the growing US military presence in the region.
