Kadyrov Preparing To Bounce Back When Russia Crumbles

Putin understands all this.

The first pharmacy in Russia with separate services for men and women has opened in Grozny. In the near future, 15 more such establishments will open there. At the same time, Kadyrov demanded that beauty salons in Chechnya that advertise their services using photos of models “inappropriate for Muslim women” be closed down. And since spring, the republic’s authorities have been identifying cases of “inappropriate behavior” by residents on social media.

In general, the Islamization of Chechnya is in full swing. I don’t know what motives drive Kadyrov in the religious sense of the word, but in addition to religion itself, I see a clear political component here.

Kadyrov has repeated so often that he is “Putin’s foot soldier” and declared his loyalty to Russia that if he were faced with the need to declare his secession from the latter, it would be difficult for him to do so without some loss of face. At the same time, he cannot rule out that such a step will be necessary. His relations with the federal center are, to put it mildly, difficult and at some point they can quickly deteriorate. It is better to be on guard here. And in general, you need to be ready to jump back the moment everything falls apart.

This is where Islam comes in handy. If you voice your complaints about the Kremlin in religious terms, then the negativity associated with the fact that “he betrayed Putin, to whom he swore allegiance,” will be leveled out. Putin is Putin, but everyone knows that Kadyrov is religious and religion is a more significant factor for him than all the others. In short, Allah is more important than Putin. Loyalty to the first makes disloyalty to the second possible.

I think Putin understands all this. That is why he kisses the Koran in the presence of the Chechen leader. To make it harder for him to accuse the feds of “disrespect” for Islam.
