Democrats have been gradually analysing their recent defeat among American voters.
Democrats are not planning an all-out resistance to newly elected US President Donald Trump. At least not in the style of 2016, when lawmakers, activists, volunteers and millions of angry voters joined forces party-wide to limit his influence in Washington, reports The Hill.
‘Before January 2025, the absence of unified resistance from the Democrats to the President's second term indicates that the party is just beginning to analyse its mistakes, trying to understand what went wrong before uniting to criticise the Republicans,’ the paper said.
Although some still see Trump's re-election as a present threat to the country, their voices have become less loud. Democrats' rhetoric about preserving our democracy, which used to be effective and based on fear, hasn't worked this time around, and a lot of the party members are looking for new approaches after losing much of their power.
