100 units have already been manufactured.
Serial production of the Peklo cruise missile has begun in Ukraine. Over the past three months, the manufacturer has produced about 100 units.
This was reported in an article published on December 16 by the Economic Truth portal.
According to the publication, after the development and codification were completed, the Peklo missile immediately went into serial production. The corresponding purchase contracts are concluded by the same units of the Defense Forces that operate long-range drones.
EP journalists did not disclose the exact price of one serial Peklo missile for security reasons, but it is known that it is less than the cost of the Lyuty kamikaze drone.
According to the developers, the Peklo missile is 70% made up of Ukrainian components produced by state and private companies. However, there are many bottlenecks in serial production, but they are trying to level them out due to the interchangeability of elements. For example, as the developers say, the Peklo will be able to operate on different engines — depending on their quantity and availability on the market.
As EP notes, the fact that the Peklo has a significantly smaller warhead than another Ukrainian missile, Palianytsia, makes it look like a kamikaze drone. However, the Peklo is capable of flying at a speed of up to 700 km / h, while conventional drones — from 150 to 200 km / h maximum.
According to one of the developers of the Peklo, if we take a purely technical aspect, then the drone becomes a cruise missile due to the presence of a jet engine.
