Belarus To Introduce New Visa Rules For Foreigners

They will come into effect in three months.

Electronic visas will be issued to foreigners in Belarus in three months to enter the country. This is stipulated by the government decree № 953 of December 16. It is published today on the National Legal Portal, notes Nasha Niva.

The document introduces a large number of changes to the visa rules of the Republic of Belarus. One of them is the introduction of an electronic visa, which is a record of the foreigner's authorised entry, which is stored in the ‘Consul’ automated system.

The issuing of an electronic visa will be a service of the single portal of electronic services. It will be available to holders of ordinary passports of 67 states, including the USA, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Poland and Australia.

To do this, they need to submit an application in the personal cabinet of the portal, and also they must not be on the list of persons whose entry is prohibited or undesirable, and have no violations of the terms of temporary stay in the country during previous visits.

E-visas are single-entry and individual visas and are issued for a period not exceeding 30 days without entering information about jointly following persons.

The following categories of e-visas are provided for: business travel; participation in sports, cultural, scientific, educational events and internships; private affairs; tourism.

The visa application is examined within seven calendar days. The issuing of electronic visas on an urgent basis is not carried out.

The payment for e-visa issuance is to be made by bank cards of international payment systems.
