Stand-up comedian Slava Kamisaranka, who lives outside of Belarus, was found guilty under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus: slander and insult to Lukashenka, as well as incitement of hatred.
The stand-up comedian's trial, which began on December 24, was held in the Minsk City Court. Judge Nastassia Papko sentenced him to six years in prison.
Until 2021, Slava Kamisaranka lived in Russia and performed on the Russian TV channel TNT, including with monologues about Aliaksandr Lukashenka.
Due to the threat of persecution from Belarusian security forces, he had to leave the Russian Federation.
