Ukrainian Armed Forces Struck Russian Troops Concentration In Kursk Region

On the evening of December 30, an air raid alert was declared in the Kursk region due to the threat of strikes by Ukrainian drones and missiles. After that, reports appeared online about the operation of air defense systems over Kursk. Governor Alexander Khinshtein assured that nothing extraordinary had happened. Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council Oleksandr Kovalenko confirmed the strike on a facility on Russian territory in his Telegram channel.

According to Kovalenko, the strike took place on a “concentration of Russian troops” in the city of Lgov. The official did not say what exactly the Defense Forces struck. He also did not specify the nature of the target or the size of the losses of the Russian Armed Forces.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces did not comment on the events in the city of Lgov in the Kursk region. The Russian Defense Ministry is also silent about the incident.

Governor Alexander Khinshtein wrote about the situation in the Kursk region. At 7:19 pm, the Russian official wrote that there was indeed a hit in Lgov on the evening of December 30. He assured that there was no information about casualties or the scale of destruction. According to him, all necessary services were sent to the hit site.

Meanwhile, the first explosions in the Kursk region were reported in a local public group at 18:24: they were talking about explosions in Lgov. In addition, they published videos in which a loud explosion was heard over Kursk (around 7 pm Moscow time, according to the footage). Meanwhile, a message appeared in the Kursk Region group about the alleged shooting down of four missiles over the regional center, and before that, they warned about the threat of an attack by drones and missiles. In the video from Lgov, which was published online, you can count about five hits.

At the same time, the channel “Exilenova+” claims that they have established the approximate point of arrival. The note, which was published at 19:14, indicates that the explosion occurred in the area of the railway station “Lgov-2”. The area is located 60 kilometers from Ukraine and 30 kilometers from the battle line in the Kursk region. However, there is no exact data on the point of impact yet.
