Syrian regime troops retreat to Damascus.
Syrian regime troops are retreating closer to Damascus to be able to fight for the capital.
After losing Aleppo and Hama, the regime's east began to crumble.
According to the Syrian opposition resource SOHR, regime troops are retreating from the southern bank of the Euphrates River away from Raqqa, and are also leaving Deir ez-Zor, the empty space is being occupied by the SDF/Kurds, and ISIS militants are also operating in these areas.
In the south, in Daraa province, opposition cells are also awakening.
Amid all these problems, Assad is withdrawing troops closer to Damascus, hoping to fight for the capital. It seems that the dictator's last hope is to hold the capital.
SOHR also writes about the appearance of rebels in Homs. “Assad is now pulling all his forces into Damascus: from Homs (the city will probably fall soon), from Deir ez-Zor in the east, where the empty space is already occupied by the SDF and the blacks (ISIS — edit.) are gathering, and will probably pull forces from the very south, before everyone there deserts and goes over to the rebels,” writes Israeli army officer Yigal Levin.
