South Korea's President Banned From Travelling Abroad

The police say they do not rule out his arrest and personal interrogation.

South Korea's Justice Ministry has banned President Yoon Suk Yeol from leaving the country, Reuters reports.

In turn, the Yonhap news agency reports that law enforcers do not rule out that Yoon Suk Yeol will be arrested without a warrant, provided that all the necessary requirements are met. Personal interrogation of the president is also possible.

‘There are no human or physical restrictions on the subject of the investigation,’ said Woo Jong-soo, head of the National Police Agency's National Investigation Department.

The South Korean president has been declared a suspect in a case of treason, sedition and abuse of power. The police have created a special team of 150 investigators to deal with the case.
