He will be tried.
The former 'governor' of Sevastopol in Crimea, seized by Russian troops, Dmitry Ovsyannikov, has allegedly been detained in Britain for sanctions evasion. He has been exposed by the National Crime Agency.
According to ,The Insider the information was leaked by journalists at The Times on Wednesday 31 January. However, the article only appeared in the paper's print edition. As noted, the co-author of the material, Tom Parfitt, allegedly confirmed the authenticity of the data.
According to the journalists, Ovsyannikov was arrested at his home in London and is now in custody.

The trial of the "ex-governor" of Sevastopol is scheduled for 20 February. The protégé of the Russian occupiers in the UK is accused of circumventing sanctions by opening an account in a London bank, making four payments totalling £65,000 and possessing £77.5,000 in cash.
The material states that Ovsyannikov was subject to European Union sanctions. However, in February 2023, he requested that he be exempted from the sanctions as he was no longer in the position for which he was subject to economic restrictions. His appeal was granted.
However, the UK withdrew from the EU and did not lift sanctions against the "ex-governor" of Sevastopol.
"Ovsyannikov is a sanctioned person in the UK, which restricts his access to money and financial services," the newspaper notes.
Dmitry Ovsyannikov was in his "position" in the Crimea occupied by Russia from 2017 to 2019. He was later appointed Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the aggressor country Russia.
In 2020 he was sacked from the Russian government and expelled from the United Russia party for causing a riot at Izhevsk airport.
