The Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office provided details.
In the Klishchiivka area of the Donetsk region, Russian soldiers shot an unarmed Ukrainian soldier who came out to them with his hands raised. The enemy killed another Ukrainian fighter with a grenade. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General on Telegram.
On February 9, the media distributed a video in which the occupiers killed Ukrainian defenders during the seizure of positions near Klishchiivka, Bakhmut district. An enemy unmanned aerial vehicle recorded how, probably, the commander of one of the Russian units ordered not to take prisoners during the assault on the trenches of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“During the attack on the positions of the Russian military, they shot one unarmed prisoner who came out to them with his hands raised. And they killed the second one by throwing a grenade into the dugout,” the report says.
The Office of the Prosecutor General noted that the murder of prisoners of war is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions, and it also qualifies as a serious international crime. Therefore, the leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office began a pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings into violation of the laws and customs of war associated with premeditated murder (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code)
