The statement was made by Peskov.
Russian authorities expect to reach an agreement with Armenia on guarantees for Russian President Vladimir Putin in connection with Yerevan's accession to the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
The fact that Armenia has become a member state of the ICC and is now obliged to arrest Putin in case of a visit "can only have a negative impact on bilateral relations".
"Of course, it is very important to get certain assurances from our Armenian partners here," Peskov said, commenting on the prospect of arresting the Russian president in the country, which is a member of the CSTO military bloc and the EAEU economic union. Peskov added that the issue "still needs to be resolved in the framework of bilateral dialogue" and that the Kremlin was "determined" to do so, Interfax reported.
The day before, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan refused to give guarantees that Putin would not be arrested in the country if he visited under an ICC warrant issued last March.
