Nadezhdin Filed Three Lawsuits With Russian Supreme Court

The politician decides that there is justice in Russia.

Politician Boris Nadezhdin announced the filing of three lawsuits with the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation due to the refusal of the Central Election Commission (CEC) to register him as a candidate for the presidential election.

The former member of the State Duma filed two lawsuits on challenging the form of the statement and on challenging the form of the notarial list of collectors on February 12, and the third lawsuit — on challenging the refusal to register — he promised to file it by February 16.

"Signatures in my support were left by living people. Many signatures were rejected due to a slight mismatch between the address in the passport and in the certificate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is necessary to contact thousands of citizens throughout Russia to challenge the denial of my registration. <...> And it takes time," Nadezhdin wrote on Telegram.

On February 8, the CEC invalidated 9,147 signatures in support of Nadezhdin's registration in the presidential elections in Russia. With a total number of signatures (104,734), more than 8.7% with an allowable 5% were “wasted”. In this regard, the CEC decided not to allow the politician to participate in the elections.
