But denies his relations with the FSB.
Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has confirmed that his older brother lives in Moscow.
Journalists asked Podolyak to comment on former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alfred Koch's statement that his brother is a "KGB colonel living in Moscow."
"I don't know about the KGB, FSB and so on, of course not. If a person is 60 years old, I'm 51, should I be responsible for other people? People who chose to live in another country in the Soviet Union, and I don't communicate with people, so should I be responsible for them?" Podolyak replied.
He also pointed out that it is wrong to believe that if you have a relative living in Russia, you will necessarily be recruited. "Why don't they think that I can recruit someone? It all sounds mysterious to me <...>. I certainly will not and do not want to be responsible for other adult people, just like [AFU chief Oleksandr] Syrsky, just like some other person born in the USSR," Podolyak said.
