Russia Conceals Losses Among 'Cesar Kunikov' Large Landing Ship Crew

The ship was destroyed by Ukrainian forces on February 14.

Russia is hiding losses among the crew of the Caesar Kunikov large landing ship, which was destroyed by Ukrainian forces on February 14.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the speaker of the AFU naval forces Dmytro Pletenchuk on the air of the TV marathon.

According to Pletenchuk, there were officially 87 crew members on board the sunk ship. At present, it is difficult to establish the exact number of dead and injured.

He added that it can only be confirmed that after the attack on the ship, the bodies - dead or alive - were loaded into ambulances on the coast and taken to medical centres.

The speaker noted that Russia is trying to hide information about losses among the crew as much as possible. Usually it appears for some time, mainly in obituaries.

In addition, they "shut the mouths even of the victims' relatives" in Russia. They are forbidden to post this kind of information on social networks.

"They are motivated by not letting us (Ukrainians - ed.) rejoice," Pletenchuk explained.
