According to Mette Frederiksen, Prime Minister of Denmark, the country was the first in Northern Europe to sign a security agreement with Ukraine. The document is valid for 10 years.
It is reported by the DR.
According to the publication, Frederiksen presented the agreement at a press conference in Marienborg on Thursday, February 22.
"This is the most serious situation in the realm of security policy since the end of the Cold War. The Danish government cannot emphasise enough how crucial it is for Ukraine to receive the military capabilities it needs. If we don't stand together, Ukraine won't stand, and potentially, neither will Europe," said Frederiksen.
According to the DR, the agreement will help support Ukraine's ability to defend the country from Russia, as well as help deter future Russian attacks.
