The main reason was announced.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that he fired AFU Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny because of the need for a "reset".
He said this in an interview with Fox News.
According to Zelensky, Ukraine needed such an upgrade because "some things have not changed for a certain period of time".
"We need to be faster. That means getting rid of all the bureaucracy we have, otherwise we will have no chance. Being smarter, more technologically advanced and of course faster. Time is money, and in our case time is people's lives," the Ukrainian president explained.
When asked whether Zelensky thinks Zaluzhny might end up in opposition to him, he said that "it is his choice".
The Ukrainian president said that he awarded the former commander-in-chief the title Hero of Ukraine because he defended the country.
On February 8, President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed General Valery Zaluzhny from his post, which he had held for more than 2.5 years, and appointed Ground Forces Commander Oleksandr Syrsky in his place.
After that, a rotation within Ukraine's military leadership began. New heads were appointed to the General Staff, Territorial Defence Forces, Airborne Assault Forces, United Forces of the AFU.
