‘Russia Will Get Surprises’: Zelensky Announces Preparation Of New Counter-Offensive

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said that in 2024 Ukraine plans not only to defend itself, but also to prepare a new counter-offensive.

He stated this in an interview with American journalist Bret Baier, which was broadcast by Fox News.

According to the head of Ukraine, in a confrontation with a country like Russia, even defense is a big task and challenge.

“Defending is task number one. We will continue our successful history on the Black Sea. I won't go into details, but they, the Russians, will get surprises. The south is important. The defense of the east, where they have more than 200 thousand soldiers, is also very important,” said the President of Ukraine.

“And, of course, we will prepare a new counter-offensive, a new operation. Surely, I'm not saying that we will just stand there. It depends on many things,” Zelensky noted.

He also commented on the counter-offensive of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2023. The President emphasized the need to think about the lives of the soldiers, because rapid movement will mean the loss of people, and if Ukraine loses soldiers, it will lose everything.
