Belarusian GS Checks Territorial Minsk Defence

The inspection will be carried out from 27 February to 1 March.

The Commission of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus started checking the territorial defence leadership in Minsk, the Press Service of the Belarusian MoD reported.

The inspection will be carried out from 27 February to 1 March.

"The purpose of the check is to assess the level of preparation of the territorial defence, the effectiveness of the work of officials of the administrations and military commissariats of the districts to guide its preparation, as well as the ongoing work on the organization of the people's militia of the capital city," the department explained.

In July 2023, the training of conscripts of the territorial troops of Belarus was carried out by the fighters of the Wagner Group.

“The training was held in the Mahiliou region, near the city of Asipovichy. The Belarusian military was taught the skills of tactical shooting and movement on the battlefield. The conscripts also acquired knowledge of engineering and tactical medicine,” the Belarusian Ministry of Defence reported.
