Kyiv will receive the aid within four years.

The European Parliament approved the creation of an aid fund for Ukraine and the transfer of 50 billion euros over four years.

This was stated by Radio Liberty correspondent Rikard Jozwiak on X.

"The European Parliament approved the allocation of 50 billion euros for Ukraine by an overwhelming majority of votes (536 in favour, 40 against, 39 abstentions)," he said.

On February 1, at a special summit in Brussels, EU leaders approved the allocation of 50 billion euros to Ukraine within the framework of the Ukraine Facility program for 2024-2027.

And already on February 5, the Council of the EU and the European Parliament reached a preliminary agreement on the creation of a new instrument to support the rehabilitation, reconstruction and modernization of Ukraine.

The document must be approved by the European Parliament at the plenary session, which is scheduled for February 26-29, 2024.
