The major of the AFU spoke about the "window of opportunity" for Ukraine.
Russians are frightened and are not capable of taking serious steps to oppose Putin's regime in Russia, but they could be pushed to some action by Russian volunteers fighting on the side of Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by Oleksiy Hetman, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, major in the reserve of the AFU, in an interview with Glavred.
"Russians are frightened, they are not capable of serious steps, but perhaps Russian volunteers could organise some movements. We remember how it was when Prigozhin moved to Moscow: when people saw that the power was weak and the throne was faltering, they immediately got courage," Hetman noted.
He is convinced that a democratic revolution in Russia is hardly possible - there can only be a revolt, "senseless and merciless."
"However, when Russia starts to collapse, everything will fall by the domino principle. People will rise up very quickly. They will rise up not for democracy, but to change the old tsar for a new one. And this will be a window of opportunity for Ukraine: while they will tear down the old tsar, if it does happen, we can finish the war and do a lot of other useful things for ourselves," the AFU reserve major said.
