Date And Place Of Farewell To Navalny Announced

Associates of the murdered politician reported this.

The date and place of farewell to Alexei Navalny, who died in a Russian prison, were announced by the politician's associates.

"The Church of Our Lady “Allay My Sorrows” will host funeral service for Alexei in Maryino on March 1 at 14.00. Please, come in advance. The funeral will be held at the Borisov Cemetery," Navalny's Press Secretary Kira Yarmysh wrote.

Recall that on February 16, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia announced the death of political prisoner Alexei Navalny. The report states that he died in the prison after a walk. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation checked the procedures in regard of the death of the opposition activist.

On February 22, Alexei Navalny's mother Lyudmila saw the body of her son and was allowed to read the report. The files reads that he died due to "natural causes".

On February 23, Navalny's associates said that the investigator demanded that the politician's mother agree to a secret funeral within three hours. Otherwise, they threatened to bury the body right in the prison.

On February 24, Yulia Navalnaya reported that Vladimir Putin is behind the actions of investigators who refuse to extradite her husband's body. On the same day, Navalny's body was given to his mother.
