Hrodna Resident Tried For Flowers To Alexei Navalny Near Russian Consulate

This is the first such case in Belarus, which became publicly known.

A man brought a portrait of Alexei Navalny to the Russian consulate in Hrodna and put two carnations in front of it, writes Hrodna Life. He was detained by police officers, who were on duty nearby, accused of picketing and sentenced to 10 days of arrest.

After the death of Alexei Navalny, at least 340 people who brought flowers in memory of the deceased politician were detained in 30 cities of Russia. In Belarus, this is the first such case, which became publicly known.
