Two important conditions are mentioned.
Evgen Dykyj, the former platoon commander of the Aidar Battalion, said that Ukraine could move to offensive actions along the entire front line if the Ukrainian Defence Forces had sufficient ammunition and boosted manpower.
"We will have a window of opportunity at the front in 1-1.5 months. However, we had two crucial problems at the front: shortages of ammunition and personnel. Our troops are severely lacking large-caliber ammunition. This problem is almost solved since the ammunition has already been directed to the front. And this can already be observed directly at the front. The artillery started working again and came to life," Dykyj said on the Espreso.
According to Dykyj, in conditions of limited resources, the Ukrainian Defence Forces are making a really impossible effort – they are holding the enemy.
"The second key problem is the shortage of personnel in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Unfortunately, this problem has not gone away. The Commander of the Land Forces, General Pavlyuk, is right when he says that we have the opportunity and need to move to offensive actions. However, the army is fighting thanks to those who have already joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Today, our Defence Forces, given the available resources, are doing the impossible. They deter superior enemy forces. We are not doing enough here in the rear. Since the replenishment of the Ukrainian forces depends on us," he added.
