Lukashenka Makes Personnel Reshuffles

He has appointed new directors of BELAZ, Atlant, as well as top officials of a number of ministries.

On March 11, Aliaksandr Lukashenka considered personnel issues.

Dzmitry Zakharau was appointed director of the Financial Monitoring Department of the State Control Committee.

In addition, Lukashenka agreed on the appointment of:

Vasil Sysoyeu - first deputy chairman of Minsk Regional Executive Committee;

Andrei Hardzei - chairman of the Karelichy district executive committee;

Andrei Sakalouski - chairman of the Biaroza district executive committee;

Ihar Veliantei - Director General of the state foreign trade enterprise 'Belspetszneshtekhnika';

Dzmitry Kharytonchyk - General Director of Atlant CJSC - Director of the Minsk Refrigerator Plant;

Siarhei Lesin - General Director of BELAZ OJSC - managing company of BELAZ Holding;

Beket Andrei - First Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services;

Katsiaryna Petrutskaya - Deputy Minister of Education (coordination of educational and ideological work);

Andrei Kartun - First Deputy Minister of Economy;

Maryja Mazhynskaya - Deputy Minister of Economy.

Earlier it was reported that BELAZ CEO Siarhei Nikifarovich was detained in the evening of December 15. One of the possible reasons is corruption. The top manager of the plant was placed in the KGB pre-trial detention centre.
