Minus Onboard Helicopter And More: New Details Of Russian Ship ‘Sergei Kotov’ Destruction

The wrecked Russian ship was “finished off” by the occupiers’ attempts to drag it to the port of Feodosia.

On the night of March 5, soldiers of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine attacked the Russian ship Sergei Kotov with five Magura V5 naval drones. As a result of the vessel being hit, an AK-176 artillery mount exploded on both sides.

In addition to the ship itself, the Ka-29 onboard helicopter was also destroyed. As obozrevatel.com writes, this was reported by the “Spy Dossier” Telegram channel.

According to the public, the strikes by five unmanned Magura V5 attack boats on the Project 22160 patrol ship Sergey Kotov were carried out around 00:50. The ship was attacked near Feodosia.

At the same time, the crew of the ship knew about the threat approaching it: according to the Spy Dossier, sea drones heading in its direction were discovered by the invaders at 00:15. But this did not help the invaders defend themselves.

“The strikes were made on both sides of the ship. According to the source, during the attack, an AK-176 artillery mount was blown up and an onboard Ka-29 helicopter was destroyed,” the public reported.

Despite the damage received, both as a result of strikes by naval drones and due to explosions on board, the ship still remained afloat for some time. He was “finished off” by the invaders’ attempts to drag the stricken ship to the port of Feodosia.

“During the movement, the Project 22160 patrol ship Sergei Kotov sank. Nothing is known yet about the fate of the crew,” summed up the channel’s author.
