The meeting participants did not even have time to go down to the shelter.
During a meeting in Odesa between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Russia struck the city. According to Unian, the Ukrainian leader announced this during a joint briefing.
“We saw this blow today. You see who we are dealing with, they don’t care where to hit — military or civilian... I know that there were casualties today, I don’t know all the details yet, but I know. That there are dead, there are wounded,” Zelensky said.
According to Kyriakos Mitsotakis, they were in the Odesa seaport at the time of the attack. Zelensky and his staff showed the port and talked about its importance, as well as what is needed to expand the capabilities of the sea corridor for civilian ships.
“Already at the end we heard the sound of sirens and there were explosions that occurred very close to us. We did not have time to go to some protected place. And so it's a very impressive experience. We understand that this war affects everyone. There are no people who are outside this war. This war has no mercy on anyone,” said the Greek Prime Minister.
