Latvian Prime Minister Compared Russia To Alcoholic Neighbor
EVIKA SILIŅA

The country is now strengthening its defense capabilities.

Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa compared Russia to a person with an alcohol or drug addiction, whose actions can never be predicted.

“We live next door to a neighbor who, one might say, is an alcoholic or drug addict, whose actions we cannot predict. We must realize that we live next to Russia, next to Belarus. Russia provoked the war in Ukraine, and we are acting according to a clear scenario,” she said in an interview with Latvian Radio.

Siliņa noted that the country is now strengthening its border.

“We are strengthening ourselves so that our defensive capabilities are united throughout the Baltics. And these visual changes are actually visible now, and they will be even more noticeable at the end of this year,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
