Human rights organizations have recognized four people — Raman Zabella, Illia Palonski, Maksim Nazarchuk and Darya Mandzik — as political prisoners.
They are accused under Part 1 of Article 342 of the Criminal Code (“group actions that grossly violate public order”).
The political prisoners are architects who were detained as a result of raids by the law-enforcers in February.
Now Raman, Illia, Maksim and Darya are held in Minsk pre-trial detention center #1 on Valadarski Street.
Important to note, on February 14-16, mass arrests and searches of architects took place in Minsk. Some of the detainees received administrative arrests; now the names of those against whom criminal cases have been opened have become known.
According to one version, the basis for the detention of specialists was a photograph from the marches in 2020. During the protests, architects and designers walked through Minsk in a separate column.
