Incredible Blow To Russian Orthodox Church

The irony is that "holy war" is a term generally alien to the Orthodox tradition. It is not that it excludes wars as such, but considers them more of a compulsory need for self-defence. A "holy war" is something like "holy clean-up".

Well, and on top of that the official fixing of the assertion that after the "SMO" is completed, Ukraine should enter Russia's exclusive zone of influence. This is the Church's claim, l remind you.

Well. I think it's very good. I am sincerely grateful to Patriarch Kirill. This is the second time he has done this: he obediently snaps a salute where it results in the loss of his church's position, which has been formed over centuries.

This is an indescribable trump card to all opponents of the Russian Orthodox Church in the world and an incredible blow to all its supporters. In fact, a heresy completely opposite to the Orthodox tradition has been proclaimed to the whole world and signed by the patriarch. After that, even the most loyal sympathisers of the ROC in other local churches will not have enough arguments. And in the States, they have just started a lobbying campaign that "Christians are being persecuted in Ukraine" - and how to carry it on if the ROC has unanimously proclaimed that the conquest of Ukraine is a holy cause.

In short, it's shooting yourself in both feet with a crooked double-barrelled shotgun. Let them carry on.
